Default Wetterauer - why not???

Sorry for yet another chip post but...

I'm wondering if anyone has any reasons why NOT to chip using Wetterauer on a 2001 A4 Avant.

Pro's:
1. 205hp/250 ft/lbs torque
2. $400 after $100 rebate
3. Can easily take chip out if needed

Con's:
1. Not local (i'm in Nor Cal)
2. Long term wear???
3. ????

thanks all...

Default Never heard anything bad about the Wett chip, go for it...

It's easy to get lost in the APR / GIAC mindset here. Truth is there are lots of good tuners, and lots of good chips. GIAC and APR are just the flavor of choice at the moment.

I can tell you that I bought my APR chip for the EMCS and that was the deciding factor for me. Don't know if Wett offers something like that yet. I know GIAC is coming out with (or is already out?) with a chip that can change programs.

Default Go ahead and chip. You'll love it, however . . .

do yourself and your new car a favor, and get the chip from APR. Their v3.0 chip has never missed a beat or as much as a ping in my car. I'll swear the boys on Opelika Road really do know what they are doing. And they have a huge commitment to Audis. You won't regret it. Good luck.

Default I've got one - 1.1bar - I think it's great!

You can also get a 1.0 bar.

Default you'll be happy! my thoughts...

i went with a TAP stage 2 because of local tuners/mechanics experiences with APR were negative. i've been very happy! this is NOT a slam on APR- just my experiences and choices. i would love to try an APR chipped car, to feel the differences, if any.

Default Good, if not great chip

Had a Wett 1Bar for years, never missed a beat. Great service & free upgrades.
Well worth the money. Oh and it had great performance.
What more could you ask for?

Default How many...

miles do you have on it? One of my main concerns is long term wear on that little turbo...
