from today. He's got a 1.8t, i think he said the "kit" cost him $65. Much cheaper than evo's $280.
As for advantages, more cold air into the engine is a good thing. Our 2.8 brethren gain more than us 1.8t boys. A couple more hp, depending on if you can keep the air cold enough... i think blackknightb5 has a cool setup with the heat shield wrapping.

they will probably take in more hot air, if anything. For a real cold air, you'll have to go custom with tons of heat shielding and probably a different intake location.
