They are awesome bang for the buck. I used to have the 4" MB quartz components and they lacked bass (as expected) but the tweets were too bright for my tastes. The BA Rally's sound smoother to me.

Even the 8" sounds great, and has an amazing amount of travel room! Crank the 8" up and it looks like you're breaking some physics laws. :-)
Basically, I think you should go listen to a 10" and a 12" and see which one you like better. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong.
2 10"s will be louder than 1 12".
