I've had the LM22's, and thought the winter perf. could be improved upon.
They were great in the dry, hydroplaned a bit in the wet (most winter tires will), but their snow/ice grip was marginally better than all seasons (I'm being kind here). Others rave about these tires...enough so that I'm even starting to wonder if I got an "odd" set.

Lol. Welcome to white noise!
Vancouver, Puckatowagan, or Yellowknife? You have to tell us a little bit more what sort of conditions and driving you have or you will continue to get garbage answers.

I've heard the Toyo Winters are very good. Have you checked with the VW/Audi dealers? They have a special on the Pirelli Wintersport tires. I am considering a set for my A4.

I have Nokian Hakka NRW's (soon to be WR's I guess) on my '90 CoupeQ, and Hakka Q's on my A4, (more)
The NRWs are H-rated, so they don't wear out as much driving on dry pavement, in fact the local tire store (Kal-Tire) sells them as all-seaon. They are great in snow, decent on ice, it's a great choice if you do a lot of high speed driving on dry pavement in the winter.
The Hakka Q's are a through-n-through winter tire, they are much softer, offer the same if not better snow traction than the NRWs, and they are definitely much better on ice. I highly recommend them.
