a set of B&W Nautilus 801s for 40 grand, take out the drivers and install them in your car ![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Next to that, check out Focal (http://www.focal.tm.fr/gb.htm), Diamond Audio (http://www.diamondaudio.com/), MB Quart (http://www.mbquart.com/) and finally, Boston Acoustics (http://www.bostonacoustics.com/). In that order. Enjoy spending your money...
I had MB Quart Q series and Boston subs in my old car... This time it will be Focal fronts, MB Quart Q Series rears, and Diamond subs, when the time comes

they hit low, hard, and CLEAN, especially in a sealed enclosure... I had one in a previous car, and it was NICE. There are subs that go louder, no doubt, so I wasn't winning any SPL contests, but I was able to go alot lower while still being clear...
very nice...
it is actually sitting in its enclosure sight here under my table... Man I need to install that in the audi....
oh, and skip the boston Rallye crap, stick with the proseries stuff... MUCH nicer.... my proseries 12 weighs in at 32lbs and is REALLY pretty....750rms, 1500 peak (IIRC)

The best speakers that money can buy are probably well over $1000 a set, however (imho) you should not be spending that kinda of change if you're not going to take the time to set them up properly. That means sound deadening the door panels, and creating door panel molds or kick panel enclosures that will position the speakers as optimally as possible. That's all custom work that I wouldn't trust to the 17 year old working at best buy for the holidays.
