Lastly, apply a hearty amount of wax on the area. Floss breaks; use fishing line.

Default OK... you can do this *without* the goop off... don't heat them up as much and cut the badge (more)

off of the adhesive... the heat the adhesive a little more and you can peel it off no problem, without your fingernail.

This worked great for me... no residue!
