What brand Power Steering fluid should I use ??

Need some and don't have time to rush to the dealer. Can I just use any from an automotive parts store ?

You can't use just any, have to buy from dealer

it costs $23 for a bottle of Audi/VW steering fluid =\

You dont have to gt it from the dealer, any good Europan parts and or German repair shop should carry it.

READ THE MANUAL: For 1996 2.8 its Audi #G002000 . . .

Just find out what types of fluid match this Audi Specification. I would assume that most automotive chemical companies that manufacture products for European cars will have an application table that will specify the compatible fluid for the A4.
