It depends.

With amber sidemarkers, the bulb is clear.

With clear sidemarkers, the bulb is amber.

Sidemarkers should be amber when they are on, so it is achieved by either the marker or the bulb.

Stock bulb is clear, since you have a pre-99.5 A4. (wouldn't need to change sidemarkers otherwise)
