What direction are the slots supposed to go on slotted rotors? Pics would be very useful, thanks

Hmm... on that note. Does the direction even matter?
The slots are there to do two things, right?
1) heat things up to operating temp more quickly
2) prevent glazing
Is this about right? If that's the case, would they work no matter which direction they are pointed?

Forgot about gas release... but are you sure about cooling?
I've heard the slots actually heat things up more quickly. That's why you can get slotted *and* crossdrilled rotors. But maybe the people I talked to were smoking crack.
(Hmm... would smoking crack really affect your judgement on the function of car parts? I've always wondered this.)

when positioned correctly the vanes draw air away from the hub
and out away from the rotor. If they're positioned backwards the forward wheel motion will have the opposite effect, causing the rotor to heat up (BAD).

Vanes point outwards towards the rear of the car, grooves towards the front of the car.
