what do i need to do for a K04 upgrade and expected HP? (long)
My original plan was to save up for a GT28 or a T28 but the opportunity is here for a brand new K04 for $840 (is that good?). I have a 1.8t FWD/tip and it has GIAC ecu & tip chip, Bailey BPV, Lltek intake, and Miltek exhaust. First, what do i need for a K04 upgrade? ecu reflash? injectors? FMIC? anything else? Second, what kinda power can be expected from a K04? Is 250hp a good estimate w/ FMIC? thanks for any info.<ul><li><a href="http://webkyaw.freehosting.net">My A4 Page</a></li></ul>

Well if your buying just the turbo then you will also have to pay for a K04 chip.
It is not a free upgrade. This is why there is a discount for people that have GIAC chips already when you buy a K04 kit from one of the shops like DSR and AWE. The other thing depends on what year your car is since you might want to step up to larger injectors if you own a non dbw car. As for the fmic it would be best to do that but dont expect to get 250 hp on a street chip, more in the 230-240 hp range.

Do the K04'ers find the car to be better on the street than chipped K03? Or just at the track?
What I mean is... is the power band shifted so much higher on a K04'd car that it noticeably hurts the street-ability of the car?

$840 is not bad but there have been lower prices. What year is your car?
Yes they can reflash your chip but it will cost you. As for the injectors the chip you get needs to be tuned for the right size. There have been GIAC chips for the stock 240's, 270's and 310's.
