talked to shop in cincy that said they would do install, but wanted to make sure i was getting everything they would need. (minus the flywheel) Does clutch kit come with everything needed?? (OFE series for a 2000 A4 1.8tq) thanks... additionally anywhere else to get southbend clutch kit OFE series for less than $450 ?!?

I didn't do the the rear main b/c it cost to much at the time. Make sure they will resurface the flywheel if you don't get an aftermarket one. I had mines done at a local Napa with a machine shop.

what is that? sorry I am quite ignorant when it comes to mechanics of a clutch. And what should I expect to pay to have fly wheel resurfaced?? thanks

Its what seals the crankcase and the cam that comes thru the block to the trans.
The flywheel will need to get resurfaced just like brake rotors get resurfaced. Works almost the same way. Plus you will have burn marks on the fw as well as it being glazed and textured to your current clutch. Try google for some of this info so that you can at least learn how it looks and how it works.

I will talk to my mechanic about these things, I believe he also suggested purchasing a used, low miles, flywheel (about 100 bucks). Does this seem like good idea or no? thanks again!
