What is everyone's opinion on stock superiority? AEB vs. ATW vs. AWM

Just thinking out loud. What is the best year b5 1.8t to buy, lets say with no other variables involved such as the condition the previous owner kept it in and records and such. I just mean the best overall package from the factory (engine issues only) I'm not concerned with sport seats and celebrations wheels here.
This is what I know so fill in the blanks
Aeb- only benefit is ndbw? What are the other benefits to aeb? Better flowing head I think?
Atw- dbw
, and that pesky secondary air pump that always caused problems but this year has the best internals. Forged pistons, crank and rods, 20mm wrist pins too. I think this is why only they get j31 with it's high boost levels.
Awm- has dbw also which sucks but it gets the ko3 sport and vvt, but unlike the atw doesn't get forged rods for some reason, probably a cost cut for Audi.
What is everyone's opinion on the best base car to buy?

i could be wrong.
anyway, the best year is ATW (2000). all others suck. alot. really, why even bother with them? its sort of depressing actually.

It was a fight between some BT guys talking about the differences between the engines. I think it was some Australian engine builder that was adamant about the forged internals of the atw and awm (minus the rods for the later). I guess I can't prove it but it would be really nice to know for sure. Aeb I was told is not forged.

Sub 2000cc displacement
Cast internals
weenie turbocharger
DBW (for those that apply)
Small port heads for most engines
I'm sure there are others... just can't think of them right now

06A-105-021 crankshaft is used for the following domestic engines by Audi... I'm sure there are MANY VW 06A casting engine blocks which share this crank... I'd expect nearly all of them to do so.
