Default I first felt my wheels bearing going via a slight vibration in the gas pedal...

it was more evident when turning... and approx. 2months later it was unbearable (no pun intended).

Default This is what my mechanics did to figure it out...

Put my 2.8QM on a lift, placed blocks under three wheels to prevent them from spinning, left one to move freely. Started car, put in gear, slowly increased throttle. With Quattro, the only wheel spinning soon exposes the noisey bearing. They kept blocking wheels until the culprit showed up. It is amazing how much noise a bad bearing can make when it is off the ground and under speed. I also thought it was the left front bearing..it was the right rear. This is the best way I have seen a bad wheel bearing found, especially on front drive and awd cars. I could barely sense anything wrong when driving except for a bit louder hum when turning in a certain direction.
