what happens to a fix it ticket if you sell the car before it is settled?

i think you have to prove that you sold the car. when I was getting my tickets signed off
there was some poor woman trying to get the officers to sign off on the ticket even though she didn't have the car anymore.
if its an easy fix, just fix it and get the ticket signed off.

Just read a Q and A on lawguru.com....This person buys a used car. They transfer registration over and the new ownder drives till it expires, but when they try to renew it months after the sale, DMV has a hold on it. Why? Cause the previous owner didn't pay the fine for a fix it ticket. What did the lawyer suggest to the new owner? Pay the fine and take the previous owner to small claims court. What a bunch of crock!!!
