I have a 96' 2.8 and when I started driving down my street tonite I realized that my lights werent on. I pull over and turn them on again. Nothing happens. Parking lights work fine and so do the highbeams. Both sides are out tho. When I got home I checked the fuses and they seem to be ok. Does anyone have a clue whats wrong??

Must be the switch, most (all?) cars use seperate switches for low, high and parking lights even though they are built into the same switch. That part of the switch must be broken.

i replaced mine in dec. my lights went out a few hundred miles from my house. i had to rig up the switch to keep the hi beams on for the rest of the ride. anyway, it sounds like the switch. the dealer replaced mine for about 250 bucks.

Mine (98.5) were acting up on initial application; turn on healights and got nothing. Turn them on and off a few times and they'd come oon sporatically. Longer I'd drive and they's eventually work, although still flicking turn signals to make a right turn would momentarily shut them off again.
I got a can of WD-40 and spritzed inside the steering column where the switch stalk disappears. Do an archive check for more info. They seem OK now. If they act up again, I'll replace the switch like others did.
