Default What is the indicator/button on the drivers side door jam near the floor?

It seems to illuminate when the doors are open. I checked the users manual but can't find it mentioned. It shows the outline of the car and what looks a light indication of some sort. I tried pressing the button (it's a push button switch) and the indicator changes but I couldn't tell what it did if anything.

Default it deactivates the interior motion sensor

this allows you to set the alarm/lock the car minus the motion part. for example wind will usually set my alarm off if my windows are down even a few inches, by pressing the button it monitors the doors etc, otherwise the alarm goes off...
