HDL in Vienna, VA tells me that the 99.5 A4 1.8T invoice price is $21580 ($400 more than 99.0).
For those who have ordered a 99.5 A4 1.8T, what have you paid over invoice and what did the dealer tell you the invoice price was?
Thanks,
-Geoff

interesting. I got my car there
and I am from Boston! Friends in
the area

Anyway, I had kbb prices and they
dealt with me better then folks
up here - not to mention they had
the right equipment which for
some reason the combo is rare
in Mass...
Be tough! KBB shows increase
in Jan (or early this year) not
just for this 99.5
I just ordered a 99.5 A4 1.8T on Monday from a dealership in Baltimore and was quoted an invoice price of $21180.00. Which is the same price I got off of the internet from a few websites. I was reffered to that dealership using the MVCP car buying service and was quoted a price which was $1500.00 over invoice and they wouldn't budge.
Here is a little advice from one consumer to another. Go to the audiusa website and do a 75 mile radius search for dealerships from your zip code. Get pricing information on A4's and the options you want from this website. Calculate what the car will cost minus the destination charge. Multiply by 4 & 5%. Use the 4% figure as your starting point. Don't pay any higher than 5%. Let the dealer know you are serious about placing an order very soon. It work like a charm for me. I only had to call 2 dealership's before I got the 4% over invoice I was willing to pay.
Also do a search in the archive forums of this website on the dealerships you come up with. Lots of current A4 owners have written in about there experiences with dealerships and even reference salesman to use and which ones to stay away from.
I hope this helps. Good luck. It's a shark pool out there.

My dealer told me that invoice DID go up for the 99.5s, but that it was only 1%. So take whatever options you want, find the cost on the internet, and add 1% on everything. I got my car for 3% over invoice, which my dealer told me was their special deal for internet customers. I found them through Microsoft's Carpoint site. You can send an inquiry to a Carpoint-associated dealer in your area, and they'll call you with a price.
(I live in NJ).
