Default What a mess -- First Oil Change...

Wholy crap... First of all the drain plug was last installed with an impact wrench, I am convinced of it. Took some serious force to get the bad boy off...

Then, I eased the plug out, ever so slowly, just as the oil started to seep around the plug, I un-threaded it a couple more thread, then SPLAT! oil shot damn near two fee out the side, totally missed the catch pan.

That and the drin plug itself was much larger than the replacement one that the dealership gave me.... Interesting....

No need to replace the entire drain plug (unless it was defective)...just the crush washer.

Default Agree. The last oil change I did with engine already warm up....

so oil splashing over the place. Most of the time I change it in the morning so the oil is thicker.
