What numbers to the wheel or crank can I expect from this set up with custom tuning?

Default So I take it you read his post. It says to use 2.5" exhaust for cars with roughly 250 HP (which is

around what a K04 might be able to produce) Anything larger than this will be loud for no reason. Possibly consider doing 3" test pipe tapered down to 2.5" exhaust.

Default LOL, I love how you talk to me like I am some noob.

Yes books are nice to read, but there is something called "hands on experience". Maybe you should try it some time.

So for my 700hp should I be running a 5"+ exhaust?

Default Agree on size for your app. Bigger won't get you much other than noise.

But ... the design of the exhaust at the wg and exducer will impact the VE of the engine and the time to spool.
The 'need for backpressure' comes from NA engine exhaust requirements and, as the article says' is an unfortunate byproduct' of the desire to have high gas velocities to help scavage cylinders. With a turbo it is all about getting boost pressure. The sooner and greater the boost (greater within reason) .. the better for torque in a turbo system.

Default I know who you are Mike. Who could miss that 'style' of yours.

Still a member of the flat earth society huh?
'don't baffle me with facts .. I've got my mind all made up'
The principles of ideal exhaust design don't change if you are running a small turbo or a huge one ... just where the diminishing returns begin on sizing.

Default LOL, yes I do

oh wait no I dont since I dont live in the Northeast. I live in Socal were we have things called hills and mountains. Hell even the tracks I run at range from sea level to 3k feet.

I find it funny how plenty of people that tried going to 3" exhaust with a K03/K04 found they loss low end tq because the boost threshold changed. But I guess you think those people dont know what they are talking about either.

Default Ah I gotcha. This is the same rational which lead me to doing 3" from turbo to flex joint

(including the downpipe) and then 2.5" from there back. Thus creating less restriction right by the turbo, but then tapering to something a little more docile (in the sound category)

Default that was what I said before, when I tried it I lost low end torque, but high end did feel

a good amount quicker. Granted going to 2.5 probably would have yielded the same result.

Default No ****. I have been there.

But it seems some people out there think that everyone lives and races at 1 elevation.

Default This is because what he is talking about is not the same as decreasing back pressure.

He is talking more on the lines of controlling the amount of back presssure as you increase the hp, that is not the same as taking a K04 and trying to decrease the back pressure even more which just changes the power band.
