Default haha. I don't recall ever deleting my own posts. That's like denial of failure, which is weak :)

Although whatever deleted posts in my UID is probably from mods deleting my post if inappropriate for the forum, or posts getting deleted by users that I may have responded to.

In anycase, I choose to admit failure, so I'll let it be

I'll just follow up with correction post below it

Default Look at this and then tell me what good any paper oil filter is good for after 1000miles

Check out this link and if interested see what the guy has to say about paper filters and the differences in the stainless mesh type filters. I ran the smaller auto filter for well over a year and they really keep the oil clean.

Paper filters filter oil by the flypaper method. Oil is forced against the paper and whatever sticks is considered filtered, they in fact bypass almost all the time. These are the same filters (screen media not actual filter) that is used x 3 on my dry sump. You cant beleive what it catches and keeps out of your crankcase. Read this b4 you pay too much attn to paper filters. once in the site you can navigate to his tech stuff. This guy was a BIG TIME drag racer as in nat champ multiple times. I also really like his oil. The info opened my eyes about filtering.

Default Here's a pic of a spotless Audi engine after 12 10k intervals on the paper filters you think are bad

How did the paper filter function incorrectly here?

Default You have get a series of oil analyses back 2 back, I did and filter works. Link inside

But what really convinced me they were worth every penny and then some was when I spun a rod bearing and heat warped a crank. At any rate
And I didnt say the paper filter was bad I said the stainless positive flow filter is better. I think the proof is on the site.
Every piece of the bearing ended up inside the filter housing. This would not have happened with a paper filter, I would have had to replace mains thru and maybe a custom block instead of rod bearings and a new crank. I spun the bearing in the mountains and it was probably 15 minutes until I noticed I had a new noise, then I had to baby it home 35 miles to confirm the bad news which is also the reason I run dry sump now. But anyway talk to the guy who runs the company and he will more than convince you if my experience didnt.

Completely superfluos, imo. Not cost-effective @100x paper filter price. Engines can run w/o filter.
