Hi,
sorry for my worse english, and the lack of special vocabulary...
my question was what would you normally expect of the maximum runtime of a a4 engine when driven "faster" ....
Thx

...if you mean max engine speed and car velocity, then I think they're electronically limited at ~6700rpm and ~130mph in the 1.8T and 2.8. I might be a bit off.

mmmh maybe lifetime is the better word...
i mean you can expect that a mercedes engine runs about 150000 to 200000 miles.
what about the a4 engine? Any experiences?
thx

The current generation of the A4 isn't old enough to have a chance to accumulate 200k miles, but the 4000Q in the story has 360k+ miles!

100k A4

Barring any big problems, my 1998 A4 1.8T should pass the 100K mile barrier sometime late next summer (2001). I'm at 60K miles now with a month to go before the two year anniversary (probably be at 65K by the two year anniversary. Would be more but the car was out of commission for a month because someone rear ended me in a Ford F-150 back in April.)
