What side should slotted rotors be installed on?

So I received my A8 kit today and was looking at the rotors. One rotor is slotted left and the other right. The question is which side does each rotor go on? The boxes are marked L and R but this marking seems to indicate that the slots should sweep "backward" from the front of the car. I ask because of the following quote regarding Brembo rotors on the Tirerack site:
"Brembo Sport slotted brake rotors are sold in axle pairs and the easiest way to verify correct usage is to install the rotors on the side of the vehicle that results in the end of the slot nearest the outer edge of the rotor always contacting the brake pads first."
In addition, Stoptech has an FAQ that indicates opposite installation:
<a href="http://www.stoptech.com/faq/data/faq16.html">Stoptech FAQ</a>
I know the Stoptech rotors have directional vanes inside the rotor but the A8 kit has straight vanes.
This information seems contrary to how the rotor boxes are marked. Does it matter which direction the slots face with straight vaned rotors?
Any input is appreciated.

Follow the label on the package. Don't worry about which way the slots point.

Tread wear is OK, handling is pretty damn good. Wet traction is good and if you drive slow enough, they aren't even that bad in snow. I wouldn't drive with them in the snow for a whole season, but if you get caught in an unexpected blizzard for a night...they will do OK.

the direction of the slots is completely irrelevent. Our Formula Continental had slots on each rotor going both ways; and as you can see on my S8, the slots are the opposite of plug1's.
Note that the StopTech vanes are curved, but if you have straight vaned rotors, pick which way you think looks best :-)

There is a pretty good chance I'm going...and it will likely be my first event. I'd love you meet you if you're coming out! Please excuse me if I pass up a handshake and drool all over your wheels instead!

I have the same feelings. I had them on my old Golf and I loved them I just wanted to see what you would say bout them. Do you think I should get these again for my S4 wheels or get the Kuhmo ecsta 712's? I have no experience with Kuhmo but I have heard good things.
