Can 6.5 work my local stereo place aid that what I need. But they seem like they would be too big. Let me know if any one has done it. Thanks John

They're 4 inches in the front. No way 6.5 will fit. 5.25 will with MB Quart Adapters.

And to my recollection there's no space available to simply bore-out the opening because of the size of the stock grill and the placement of the map pocket. In my opinion if you're putting 6.5s in the front door you've got to customize the door panel very heavily. As it is, the 5.25" components I installed in the stock door panel are playing through a 4" diameter hole in the door. This leads to acoustical problems which really can't be fixed, but I decided to live with it since I wanted to maintain the stock look for anti-theft reasons. Besides, the reason to go for 6.5s instead of 5.25s is increased bass, but the door panel doesn't attach to the door in a stiff enough way to prevent poor bass response and panel vibrations, so, again, heavy modification of the door panel is in order.

and time u place speakers in a door u can expect panel vibration, i dynamatted the panel and the sheet metal and have hardly any vibrational noise at all.
Depending on the six very little modification is necessary, the hole needs to be widened out about 1/4 all the way around (depending on the 6 in question, the image dynamic is fairly narrow, unfortunately was too deep...but others probably would fit) without needing to modify the door panel horribly, but i do understand your points and rational.... as i said "..and how creative your installer is"
