195/65 is lame by any standard, espcially when I hit the tarmac at 100mph.

seriously 15" is the ideal IMO based on expiriences from the Sierras to New England and Erie inbetween. I've lived in Pa the majority of my life and found 15" is great for our winters too.

The Dunlop Winter Sport M3 & the Dunlop Winter Sport 3D in size 195/65 15 both have a load rating higher that the stock 16" tire that came on my car.
Sport 8000 max load 1279 pounds
Winter Sport both 1356 pounds
As far as thread life can't argue that one they are not required to give the UTAQ threadwear on the snow tires. The softer rubber for snow ice tires will wear out quickly if used year round.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR4&url=%2Ftires%2FSpec.jsp%3Fmake%3DDunlo p%26amp%3Bmodel%3DSP%2BWinter%2BSport%2B3D%26amp%3 Bpartnum%3D965HR5WS3D%26amp%3BvehicleSearch%3Dfals e%26amp%3BfromCompare1%3Dyes%26amp%3Bplace%3D0">Li nky</a></
