What speakers do you recommend for my '00 A4 Avant?

What speakers do you recommend for my '00 A4 Avant?
My front speakers are shot. I don't have Bose. Before changing the actual stereo, I think I'll just upgrade all the speakers. I LOVE TO LISTEN TO MUSIC and have a good ear, so sound quality is very important to me... what do you suggest?

I have MB Quarts.
I didn't want to go to the expense of a separate amp, so I put in the Quart Reference Series 5.25" (RSC 213) in the front doors. (The higher priced Quarts require an additional amp.)
The sound is vastly improved over the stock speakers. They do have a very 'bright' sound, which, I understand, is typical of German speakers.
There are other good choices out there. The first decision, as Jarrod says, is whether or not to get an amp. Many of the higher end speakers will require that.
If you are on a budget, you can get the Quart RKC 113's. They are co-axial speakers and are almost as good as the RSC's. A good installer can separate the tweeter & install it in the high location on the doors.

The difference of amp to no amp is like comparing an RS4 to a Yugo.
Amping brings soooooooo much better sound. If it were me I would upgrade to a nice 5.25 component set and amp them. Which depends on price range. Diamond HEX, Focal, MBQ, ID, Infinity, JBL GTi are all good choices of comps that range in price (and there are many more). After that all you have to do is choose an amp to match the speakers recommended power.
