What are the specs (ID and OD) for the vac lines? A technician recommended using diesel fuel lines.

What are the specs (ID and OD) for the vac lines? A technician recommended using diesel fuel lines.
He told me when he repalces vac lines he uses diesel fuel lines because they last forever and because they stay put without a fastener. I am still going to use a fastener. Thoughts??
