but than you get to clean up
) Also, when I buy new Audi oil filters they also give me a new crush washer(at a bargain $.34!lol). don't really need to replace it, but I do. FYI Goes between the drain plug and oil pan.

I just changed mine today (fortunately, I have a lift). You need:
Filter
4 quarts of oil (I used Mobil 1 10W-30)
17mm wrench for the plug
Screwdriver to drop the plastic cowling below the engine. (flat blade screwdriver)
Use the screwdriver to turn the screws on the cowling counter clockwise. There are 3 in the back row, 2 on each side, and 3 in the front. It takes about one turn to release them. Remove the plug and collect the old oil in a pan/bucket. Wait a few minutes. Replace plug. Use an oil filter wrench (or one of those cheesy rubber strap wrenches you can find in most auto part stores) to loosen the filter. Remove filter. Before you put the new filter on, put a few drops of clean oil on the rubber gasket so it doesn't bind when you put it back on. Put new filter on. Spin the filter on until the gasket touches. Use your hand and/or a the aforementioned wrench to tighten approximately 1/2 turn more. Clean up all the oil you spilled on the crossmember and crankcase pan (I use a can of brakekleen for that). Fill 'er up with the new oil.
Wait 5000 miles.
Repeat.
Cheers,
Ritz
