Default lot of ppl don't like it

but when i had it, it gave me better top end pull...granted it lost a little low end torque, but made up with the top end pull...attributed to less restriction when the engine is pulling more air.

Default I have HKS....

and love the sound, performance NOT affected....noticably anyway....Just had to build a heat shield around it to keep the heat out.

Default although the maf housing is a bottle neck

doesn't mean the filter doesn't help on the top end.

i suppose you're going to tell me next that if i don't change the intake on a car, then the exhaust i added won't give me any gains... since the cat/headers/intake= the bottle neck in this scenario....

Default here's a good question, don't know if its been brought up b4...

In search of a FMIC core for a custom job, I found this Civic with what looks like the cat covered with this heat shield. Wouldn't this approach reduce the heat drastically to include the intake heat shield also? I've used that type of material b4 and it does a good job of withstanding heat. Any thoughts? Crap the pic didnt work, check the link instead.

Default i've read a lot on here that people say it hurts performance

if you want an intake, you are better off going custom making a BIG *** heat shield

Default nope, it looks like a heat shielding blanket material that dissapates heat...

must work b/c the zip ties didn't burn off. That material can dissapate high amounts of heat, its some kind of aluminum with some type of insulation. Forgot where I got it when I bought some but it works. Here are some examples

Heat Shielding
