What's the best off-the-shelf manual tranny fluid?
Going to hit 50k miles tomorrow and I'm doing brakes this weekend. I need an oil change, and I figure while I'm at it, I might as well change the tranny fluid to alleviate some notchyness. I've never looked to see what was available, as I've never changed manual tranny fluid before..
A little too late to order special stuff, so what can I get at AutoZone or Wal Mart or something?

Well, you can get Royal Purple 75W-90 at Napa... Redline MT90 at some online dealers. (more)
Go to both Royal Purple's Redline's respective websites. They will have dealer listings that carry their products. I know that Royal Purple has a search function on theirs.
I just did my manual trans oil change in my '98 2.8 at 75,000 with Royal Purple 75W-90. It feels good now, but it wasn't "notchy" before.

See if Advanced Auto Parts near you has Redline MT-90...
apparently some of them started carrying Redline products.
But first of all, make sure you have that special tool to be able to pour the new tranny fluid in.
