Default What's the difference between the ~$120 axles and the raxles.com axles.

They tend to be a little more expensive.

TIA

Default Raxles are refurbished/remanufactured used Audi axle assemblies..

The $ 120.00 axles (usually Empi brand) are brand new and made in China.

Default Any local German auto parts/service place will have them/can order them same day.

In my area (East Bay of San Francisco) I can think of one, two, three, THREE places that work on Audis/BMWs and can order them same day. I have an Empi brand on my front driver side with around 5,000 miles on it and so far so good. I have the front passenger waiting to go on but I've been too busy. They cost me around $ 125.00 each from my local shop.

Default Are they good? If they're I can wait 10 days... The local shop is way too busy and if I can

get the pinch bolts out I'd like to do it myself. I have the tools for it.

Default It's not a tough one. Quite frankly, it's a no brainer. If you need us to tell you, then you need

to sell the car.

Default Like I said, the single Empi I have on my car has only 5,000 miles on it so it's too early to tell..

But with every mile, it gets better and better and b...e...t...t....e.....r.............

Default If you search the archives, you'll see a lot of conflicting info from trusted sources. First of all

I need to get the car on a lift and inspect the boots for my self then I can decide. The joints are fresh so, they may me repacked for under 150 total or they may be perfectly fine. (!!!?!?!)
Then all I would need to do when I go back to the dealership would be to get an alignment and get warranty work done, which I already paid for anyways.
And to the point of cheaper axles... Yes cheap is not always good, but I thought PureMS was to be trusted with parts. You yourself endorse them in your signature and I know for a fact that raxles sends out good quality reman parts, which I had the chance to see for myself. Well let me put it this way, I am not going to get new axles from the dealership just because they're not cheap.
I could have them repacked for $430 yesterday (labor and the boot kits) at the dealership, because I want it done properly and don't want to spend another $500 when the inner boots are done. So this is why I ask too many questions. i.e. to get the best solution without feeling like a sucker afterwards.
Excuse my rant, if it's too much for what I meant it for, but I'm not having a good time in general and car trouble doesn't help and it's very humid around here...
