Default what's the easiest and safest way to remove stone-guard, etc. ?

The bumper I picked up has stone-guard all over the front of it, so I was looking to take it off... does it simply peel off, or is there some sort of procedure I should follow to take it off? I don't want to ruin the paint/clear coat.

Thanks in advance for any help.

IIRC a hair dryer will loosen the plastic enough to peel off.

Default you did you see that post about how a guy's stoneguard took off his clear coat?

im not sure if it was "stoneguard" or some other type of protection, but it seems the adhesive had acted like a solvent to the clear coat an ripped it off when he tried to remove it.

i think it was in the s4 forum like 5 days ago.

becareful.

I used a 3M product, adhesive remover.

Default yeah i'm taking care...

I'm heating it up pretty well with a hair dryer and then peeling slowly but surely... gonna take a while ;-) But I got one section off, heated up the adhesive that was leftover, and took it all off with some bug and tar remover. adhesive remover would work, but this is also fine. After this I'll give her a nice claybar and waxing, and maybe put it on this afternoon.

Default Insulating tape did that to my clearcoat around the gas tank flap

it was when my central locking packed in i used a scred driver to push back the solenoid.
I used some pvc electrical insulating tape to protect the paint.
and it took the fecking clearcoat off.
i wasn't a happy bunny
