Default Whats the safest/best way of washing off winter road salt ?

It's too cold to wash/wax the car by myself. I was just wondering what other folks are doing.
TIA

Well, ya got a couple options. You could find one of those car washes where you drive in and do it yourself. Make sure, in order to get the salt off safely without damaging the paint, to give the car a thorough prewash with just water. Simply hose off the car. It should remove most granulated salt. After that you can wash and wax as normal. Or, you can take it through an automated car wash, which I dont trust, b/c they have been known to scratch. However, they do clean the undercarriage of roadsalt without yourself having to hose it down.

Default I wait until the sprinklers go on at a public library then go do a lawn job!

It cleans the undercarriage real well.

Default Agreed...high pressure hoses are great for getting the salt and some

road grime off the car. They will still leave a dirty film on the car, but at least it's better than it was before, and you didn't have to risk pnuemonia to get the job done. Next weeks the temps are supposed to climb into the 40's in the northeast...car is getting a REAL wash baby!

It's amazing what idiotic answers you can get from a simple question...
