What's up with all this REMOTE reprogramming?
Why are there constant messages about people taking their car in for reprogramming their remote locking system. Isn't the remote code good for the life of the car?? Is this common with all types of cars or just Audis?

Re: What's up with all this REMOTE reprogramming?
The central control module can be reprogrammed so that the locking system in the car works differently. For instance, the system can be programmed so that it is possible to open all the doors in one push of the remote. Or it is possible to open and close the windows with the remote. My car is programmed so that the doors automatically lock when I hit 15 MPH and automatically unlock when I turn off the ignition and remove my key. Pretty neat way to customize your car to how you like it. INstructions are in the FAQ.
Mike

Iron Mike is right (on)!!! I like the idea of having all doors lock when the car hits 15mph & when I turn off the ignition, just the doors that were automatically lock are unlocked... these doors supposedly have people alongside since they were closed automatically by the RC system.
On another note, I prefer to have just the driver's door only open when I hit the remote (open) mainly because I'm using the car 80% by myself... so I don't mind hitting the remote button twice to open all door...
It's personal preferece & it's nice to be able to choose... It's nothing to do with problems with the remote control system that require repair or re-adjustments.
The car is COOL and the more you know, it's also SMART!
