Default What's wrong with my vacuum hose? It keeps splitting

The hose that runs from the manifold to the BPV has just had a terminal split again. What's causing this? I seem to go through these about as often as I change my oil.

Also, does anyone know the diameter off-hand? I'd like to get a new one tomorrow, but don't feel like changing it in the parking lot (too much snow).

Default what're you replacing it with? get some rubber hose from pepboys, don't get the brittle stuff

the diameter is 5/32", aka 4mm.

Replacements have all been OE Audi hoses (Audi Assured took care of it)

Default i guess that would explain it, the OEM stuff sucks.. unless you get the stuff ModifiedA4 talks about

it's like $4/foot from the dealer but it's supposedly good quality.

Will plain old rubber be ok, or should I get something with some kind of braided cover?

rubber is good, the braided stuff is what gets brittle and ends up cracking

For boost hoses, not vacuum.
