"wheel bearing" noise
Like any B5er, I know that rear wheel bearing noise. I turn the left and the uloaded bearing on the left makes noise. Turn right the noise goes away. So yesterday I replaced the left rear bearing. No help, same noise, same symptom.
Is it the differential? Is there something else going on in that hub?

I had to replace both rear bearings within 3k miles. They really tend to fail in tandem.
If you turn right and the noise goes away, the left rear is fine.
When you turn, you are loading the bearing on the opposite side. e.g., right turn = load on left. bearing.
