Default Wheel offset question. I'm about to buy 17" by 8.5" with a 35S offset - will these fill the wheel

well? I know the offset is critical for the
way a wheel fills the wheel well - I'd like wheels
that fill it perfectly. Also, what width tires
should I get with 8.5" wide wheels?

Default Depends, but yes.

The Eibach pro-kit and Neuspeed sport springs (shox.com) as well as the Audi/Eibach (clairparts.com) sell for under $300 a set and you can get Bilstein Sports for under $600 a set (shox.com)

Default Definitely. There's an H&R/Bilstein Group Buy going on right now through Supreme Power Parts...

call Eric at SPP 714-632-1951. Tell him Justin told you to call about the AudiWorld suspension group buy.

The H&R springs are $209 a set, and the Bilstein Sport Struts are $449 a set. After installation and an alignment, you'll be right around $1000.

BTW, you should wait a week or two until the springs settle before getting an alignment.

Default I have Projektzwo in the same size and offset....

I have been running 235/40R17's. They do overhand the lower part of the fenders by maybe a 1/4". Suggest the Audi mud guards to cover that overhang. I've also considered going with 245/40's as the diameter would be closer to stock.

Default Oh boy, I ordered 225/45 R17

are those going to be too small in width?
I was hoping for a little sidewall protection.
Also, I figured the 45 profile would be perfect -
I'm running 205/55 R16 right now. Please let me
know so I might be able to change my order in time.

Default Re: Oh boy, I ordered 225/45 R17

I've seen others on this board run the 225/45 even on 8.5" rims. To be honest though, even the 235's don't give the protection that I would like. That's another reason as to why I considered the 245's. However, I've been unable to determine if I would have clearance problems with the 245's. I don't think I would, but with that doubt and the fact that Tirerack has the 235's on sale in the HTRZ II's that I use, I'm going with 235's again... which I'll probably order this Friday.

Default Well, I definitely want the protection, so I'll be getting the 235's - I don't want to experiment

with 245's if there's a chance they won't work
There's still the question of what profile though-
I ordered the 45's - should I have gotten a lower profile tire, like 235/40? I appreciate your help.

Default for protection on a 8.5 rim you need 235 or 245 tires....

my 17x8s with 225s on em have just a little protection
