Default Wheel Speed Sensors

I just got myself a 1998 A4 1.8T Quattro and have found at very low speeds the ABS seems to engage on one of the front wheels. I think one of the wheel speed sensors is the culprit but I don't know where the connectors are located for these sensors to test them. Does anyone know where the connectors are? Thanks for any information you can give.- quattrobo

Default How do you plan on testing the sensor?

To find the connector find the sensor and follow it back to where it plugs into the harness. Should be about a foot or so.

Ohm out the sensor, but I suspect that will pass (otherwise the ABS MIL would light). Really you would want to put a scope on it and look at it's waveform.

Might check the gap between the sensor an the ring too.

Default Re: How do you plan on testing the sensor?

Actually the plan was to ohm out the sensor as you said. All 4 sensors were originally seized in because it is a car from East Coast Canada and I think I damaged the suspect sensor while trying to take it out (because the MIL has come on).

I've traced the wire but it goes up into the wheel well wall and I loose it. It seems to go in under the dash. I can't seem to locate the point that it connects to the main harness. I'll keep looking. Thanks for your help though.
