When people say the BPV leaks boost, is that under WOT, or b/w ****s?

Ha ha! Thanks. So, a bad BPV'd be leaking under WOT or between shifts, or both?

Default It was funny... hey, so what's the answer? Situation 1, 2, or 3?

I'll leave it in for everyone else to laugh too!

Default My understanding.....

is that it leaks during shifts. You lose some boost preasure that has to be built up again by the turbo which causes you to lose power. Dont know if its right, but thats my take on it. Anyone know any different?

Default It bleeds under full boost. It can not hold max boost. It is easily..

noticeable with boost gauge. The boost (on chipped car - 1 bar chip) will go to max and then drop abruptly down to around 10 - 12 psi.

Default Sorry, dont have a gauge yet. So not in b/w shifts? I thought that...

with a leaky BPV you get rough shifts? From what you've said, it can't hold the boost under WOT, right? Not a problem with holding boost when changing gears.
