Default When removing the instrument cluster...

you don't have to do anything fancy like write down codes or anything (I think for the A6 you do) if you unplug the harnesses, do you? It will still remember mileage and all the other stuff when you plug it back in?

I keep reading there's a tech article somewhere, but can't find one for the B5.

removed mine a bunch of times without issues. Yes it remembers milage.
