From what I've read here. If you get that sound, stop and change that ****.

Default just wondering, i think i have a weird problem with a noisey lifter

usually when i start the car and first pull away i'll get a clicking from the top end for about 5 or so seconds, now the last couple days once in a while when i start the car instead of the normal routine, it will click when i start the car, bu the when i pull away, it's gone. could it just be a sticky lifter. i remember with my m3, after it sat for a few months the top end was noisey until i drove it around a bit.

Default Ive got the same lifter noise. The heavier oil seemed to help but now its coming back

It really sounds low budget. 5 seconds at start up for me too. But also when I let it idle for a couple of minutes it starts clicking. It makes me sad

Default When the TB tensioner fails, all you'll hear is silence.

It's rare that you'll hear a rattle, and if you do, odds are silence will follow before you can react.

Odds are you have another problem.

There is a chain tensioner on the back of the engine that will create a rattle on start up. That is usually a sign that it's on it's way out...but you probably have time to get to it.

Default Once the valves are bent (won't take long), odds are the car

won't even run = silence.
