When upgrading the Ross-Tech Vag-Com software does one have to reactivate it ?

When upgrading the Ross-Tech Vag-Com software does one have to reactivate it ?
I'm running old version 303.1 and I'd like to upgrade it on the same laptop...is it a simple upgrade or does one have to re-activate it via Ross-Tech ?

What about my interface, its a ISO-COM one

Oh I was talking about the cable connection, I've posted a question on the Vag forum now
I'd rather not upgrade the connector to the KEY-COM (I've the older ISO-COM) if I can help it, with international shipping and all...
