when you battery doesnt let your car start...

and after the jump start... isn't the battery supposed to be dead? after i got my battery jump started, the car seems to start up with no problems and i've started the car up 5 different times.

then the chances of the battery being able to hold a charge isn't going to be too great. There are batteries designed to be drained down to almost no power(deep cycle) and are used often as trolling motors on bass boats and as secondary stereo batteries... as long as the battery will hold its charge it's fine.

but if you drive it around for a bit, the alternator will recharge the battery slowly, and you'll be fine. This is assuming the battery is still good. If it's not, the car will run, but the next time you try to start it, it will not start.
