Default Where to buy Mobil 1 0W-40 in DC area

Hi everyone, I have visited Pepboys, Trak-Auto, Target. I have no luck locating Mobil 1 OW-40.
I am going to have my 10,000 miles service done
next Friday. Any other suggestion where I can
locate those ? Thanks.

Default You need to find a distributor

Local stores generally don't carry this weight...rumor has it that Mercedes dealers do have it though.<ul><li><a href="http://www.exxonmobil.com/channelpartners/mn_distributor_directory.jsp">Mobil Oil Distributor Locator</a></li></ul>

Just go with 0W30 - it's easier to find.

Default Is a 5-50W too thick?

Living in a warm area, This might yield better protection when things get hot. What do you guys think?

Default If you're using the synthetic, 0/30 or 0/40 is fine.

Synthetics are MUCH more stable at extreme temperatures, so you don't need to compensate by using a heavier weight oil for extreme conditions...use what was recommended in your manual. Using an oil that is too heavy may cause excess wear in some parts of the engine, if the oil is not flowing freely.

what's the advantage of 40? Doesn't the manual suggest 0w30 anyway?
