Default Where can I find a list from AOA that tells what should be done at 60k miles and 90k miles on my 96

I am coming up to my 60k mile service and I want to have an actaul list of what Audi says should be done. I have been hearing a lot of diffrenent things.

I know the most vital thing is the timing belt. Audi recomends 90k miles to replace it, however I want to do it at 60k miles. I talked to a service man at Audi and he said if I want to do it earlier at 60k miles then it is going to be like 1500 dollars. This is not what I had planned on, I thought it was going to be more like 800 dollars for the timing belt/tenisor and water pump. Also is there a list of what else they do for this?

well that means you are ready for your 60k milage service! have you looked into it at all? are you going to the dealership to do it? what stuff are you going to have done and how much is it going to cost? do you think all dealerships are the same in the ammount they charge? tia

Default what you need to change is following

1.) Timing belt
2.) drive belt
3.) deflection pulley
4.) water pump
5.) thermostat
6.) Tensioner roller for Timing belt
I would recommend do everything other wise you will need to do the job twice and will cost you more money...

Default thank you....more

did you get it done at the dealer? what did it cost you for all of this? also, would it be less money if i waited till 90k miles to do it instead of doing it at 60? thats what the dealer was implying to me

Default Re: thank you....more

I haven't done it yet, I am doing it myself to avoid paying to dealer, I have order parts from AUTOHAUS and it cost me 200us for parts.. I have passed 60k miles on it right now "knock on wood" nothing happend yet, I checked the belts still they are ok, sometimes I hear noise and it is coming from waterpump, so that is indication that time is coming, next weekend I will do it myself .. pushing to 90k miles is little risky, because you never know when it will happen, it all depends on belts in what kind of condition they are, check them out if you see small cracks on belts then it is time to do regards what dealer says...
