the photos in the tech section look like they apply to a different car. I did a quick search through the archives but I'm in the middle of the timing belt install and would rather not spend too much time on searching. Anyone have a picture or a description of the location/what I have to take off to get to it?

and while the waterpump is out, you can see the back side of the thermostat. This makes it real easy to change, as you can pop the old one out, put the new one in, and hold it in place while you're reassembling the thermostat housing back to the engine. ;-)
(While you're doing that, imagine doing it without holding the thermostat in place from the inside)
