Default Where should I get replacement rear sway bar links?

In the process of installing a new rear sway bar on my 98 2.8 and the allens stripped out of the rear sway bar links. I need both the left and right. Where should I get new ones?

I heard this is a common. Of course maybe not so common for all of who did not wait so long to do all these mods to your cars!

Default Re: dont bother with the stock junk

the plastic ones suck and if you ever want chage sway bar settings you will strip the bolts again !!get the upgraded uplinks for sure !!! they are very strong, adjustable and easy to install. it takes all the work out of a sway bar install!!!

Default Stasis and AWE sell them(edit)...

The stock ones seem to break sometimes if you do a lot of hard cornering with an aftermarket bar. My only concern is...maybe they were designed to break. I'd rather have an uplink break, than have my subframe damaged. Uplink is much cheaper and easier to install.

I am not familiar with Stasis... do you mean stratmosphere? Got a phone number?
Thanks for the heads up on ruining my subframe. I hardly ever get into extreme cornering. But maybe I will now with having new front and rear sways and cross tower brace!

Default My link broke because it was rubbing on the halfshaft...

Finally the plastic wore away enough for the whole piece to fail. The larger swaybar applies more force when cornering, which in turn pushes the end of the swaybar forward enough to rub on the halfshafts.

I bought the Custom Performance Parts metal links from AWE.... cheaper than the factory plastic parts at the dealer. A few more pics in my picture poster.

Default Re: yeah, And the same thing can happen with...

The new uplinks if you put it on the lightest setting. I have not totaly figured out why this is but i know I am not the only one. when I had the neuspeed on the lighest setting I was experencing some rubbing on the cpp uplinks. once I moved to the stiffest setting the problem was fixed.I only had rubbing on the left side from some reason. just make sure to take a look a the drive shaft and be aware that it could be an issue for you. it is not a constant rubbing, but one that occurs when the car it pushed in the corners and weight is transfered through the sway bar.

Default What diameter sway bar are you using

So these problems occur with the 19mm or just the 19mm+

good to know before I order
