Who has converted their factory HID/Xenons to the euro housings and was it worth it?

The euro housing post from yesterday (Todd from AWE) is making me a) lose sleep and b) realize that I 'need' Euro housings more than a leather recliner.
Can someone provide feedback on converting stock xenon/HID setup to the S4 euro housings?
Was it worth the $540 and why?
I'm still a little fuzzy on the 'city lights' feature - what exacty needs to be done to get this to work? (I dont see any additional bulbs in the euro housing...so how is the lighting accomplished?)

Because of U.S. standard and regulations, the Audi OEM factory housings have a film over the xenon lens similar to the film you sometimes see on the top of a windsheild in older cars, which dims the xenon beam. The euro housing are clear as a bell projecting a stream of light brighter than Clark Griswold's Christmas lights.
