Default Who here uses AntiSeize on their lug bolts?

I took my wheels off to check my brakes the other day, and when I was putting 'em back on, my room mate said "AntiSeize?! I've heard legend of people using that!"
I put a very small dab on the threads before I put 'em back in, and it really helps the next time I take the wheels off.

I originally started doing this because the tire shop last November used an impact wrench, and even with a + style lug wrench, I couldn't break 'em free. I had to duct tape a 3' 2x4 so the lug wrench to get enough leverage to take the wheel off. I'd have been pretty heated if I had a roadside flat, 'cause I wouldn't have gotten the wheel off.

I need to. I got one on now that is going to have to come off via welding or drilling.

I had a lug sieze up too, so I thought I'd try it.

Default you wont shear one off, you will however strip the bolt down to nothing and be forced to either weld

a 17mm socket to the lug, or drill through the bolt and snap the head off, remove the hub and have the rest pulled out with the easy off.

I'll let you know how it goes later today.

Yeah, I use it. I think it helps you get more accurate torque readings, too.

Default Yeesh. Yeah, Couple bucks for AntiSeize definitely seems worth it now!

I thought I was just being a bit obsessive, but I didn't know it could get that bad.

Default No...no antiseize on the lug bolts

If u torque them to 90-92lbs then everytime you go to remove them...they should back off with no problem...Using antiseize throws of the torque numbers(if u search someone from the S4 forum has a good write up)
Use this stuff on the hub, were the rim sits on...This will gaurantee never to have a stuck rim after u have removed all the bolts
