Default For my 2000, Panasonic, no, no, and yes.

So, if you plan on changing your headunit anyway...hold off don't buy the Panasonic compatible changer now, because you won't be able to use it on any non-Panasonic head unit down the road. If you really want to get a Panasonic now, buy one from Clairparts or some other mailorder place, and resell it when you replace the headunit and changer. You'll get about 1/2 what you paid for it new.

Default I have an alpine 6 cd changer connected to my stock head unit...

it's a 98.5 model...you need to buy a converter that connects between the changer and the factory installed wire in the trunk. If you go to a car stereo place they should be able to tell you what you need.
