I've always used a C clamp.

You can always go to Autozone and get the tool through their free rental program..

I did the A8 upgrade last weekend and used a giant C clamp and a flat file. I layed the file along the new brake pad to distribute the pressure and to also protect the new pad surface. Worked like a champ.

Default You can get the versa-cube model pretty much anywhere, but it's a PITA.

I'd order the one from ECS (generic one)

Default Harbor Freight...usually on sale for $20 ($10 shipping).

It comes with adaptors so you can use it on most cars (if you plan on helping friends/family). I've already used mine on two different makes, so it's paid for itself.
